Featured Seeker Ethan: "I came back to Korea because I feel the startup scene is growing stronger"

at by Ethan

My name's Ethan, I'm from California and I did a major in international business. However, I ended up going into engineering and I was an engineer in California for about three years then became a DevOps engineer. I'm also interested in solutions engineering and presales roles, because I'm more of a people-facing person and want to interact with the customer side.

I first came to Korea in 2008 to study at Yonsei in international business and also study Korean at the Korean language school. I came back to Korea in 2015 because I feel that the startup scene is growing stronger and stronger and there are more and more opportunities for foreigners here.

Reboot your resume. Build your Experience Wall.

at by JobSeekr

The paper resume describes so few of your life’s valuable experiences. If you submit this antiquated document and manage to get an interview with your dream employer, great! Sadly, securing an interview has never been tougher because the traditional paper resume is only given a short glance by HR departments, and this “process” favors the superficial (e.g. well-known schools, meaningless job titles, inflated responsibilities, etc.) JobSeekr now provides you with a space to share and expand on all the experiences of your life that you believe make you a great employee and a great person!

Hidden Treasures in Korea's Countryside

at by Suji

Through the TaLK Program, I have experience teaching in the deep countryside of Korea, Gyeongsangbukdo Uljin, where I learned more about life and myself during a year than any other period of my life. I learned about how to take care of myself, cooking more than just ramen and fried eggs, managing my time, and learned how to embrace my independence, by finding time to write and think about what I wanted to achieve during my year at the country school. Because I was forced to interact with the country people on a daily basis, due to my lack of a social life, I was able to improve my conversational Korean skills very quickly in a short period of time.
